TEHRAN – Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has advised Iranian officials to make every effort to ensure that a free and fair parliamentary elections will be held in March 2008.

“Our actions should not direct the elections towards deepening contempt in hearts; however, we should take proper measures so that people would participate in the elections in order to prove their loyalty to the system,” Rafsanjani told the National Confidence Party cleric representatives on Monday.
Chairman of the Assembly of Experts added that the people’s participation in various events is the key to resolving the country’s problems.
The Islamic Revolution owes its victory and persistence to its people and today the elections are the most important opportunity for people to determine their fate, Rafsanjani stated
